So it’s getting to that point now where I need to have a business card to hand out. I’m trying to make connections and get some freelance work so I figured, “why not?“
This is the second design. I made one earlier this week and totally liked it right up until I printed it and cut it out. The, once I looked at it, I felt that it was far too dull and boring for me. I want my card to exhibit the same kind of style that my work does. Any smart designer would do that! So I updated it and I’m far more satisfied with this one. I also have to say that I’m moving towards the speech bubble with “OMGCHRIS” inside as my logo instead of the stick thingies. Don’t get me wrong, i love those guys and have identified with them for a few years but this other logo is a bit easier to work with and I don’t have to search for a way to make it look alright when I put it on something.
Anyways, I’m going to hunt around for a place where I can get these babies printed. Hopefully, I can find a place where I can get a small quantity and a small price per unit. Something tells me for my first run of business cards, I won’t need to order 500-1000 of these things.

I love this song and I love this band.
I learned about them by researching one of my favorite Trip-hop collabs of all time: Lovage. This band was headed by Dan The Automater (of Handsome Boy Modeling School fame) and featured Mike Patton of Mr. Bungle, Jennifer Charles of Elysian Fields, and Kid Koala on the turntables. You might recognize his tunes without even knowing it. He spun most of the tracks on Gorillaz’ debut album.
I started to branch out and see what other bands the members were in. I followed Kid Koala back to his roots and found out that (to my knowledge) Bullfrog was the first band that he was on turntables for. That just means before/after he did solo DJ mixes.
Anyways, that’s about it for now. last music post for a while. I promise I have actual design stuff to show…it’s just not done yet :p
tags: awesome, music, thoughtsI was working this morning and out of nowhere this song gets stuck in my head. I probably haven’t heard this song since I was about 8 or 9 but I guess it’s just one of those really great songs that never leaves you.
It reminds me of road trips as a kid :)
